Kitchen Assistant- $150 Signing bonus!

This position offers a $150.00 signing bonus after successfully completing 60 days on the job.
Position Description: Part-Time A.M. Kitchen Assistant
Reports to: Dining Services Director, Retail Manager, Kitchen Lead
Location: BBC at Trinity Christian
EE0: Laborers and Helpers
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hours: 1 position- Monday-Wednesday-Friday 9am-2:30p
1 position- Tues-Thurs 9am-2:30pm
Could be needed to cover additional shifts for vacations, call-offs and special events
This position is not year round. This position is laid off during summer break, spring break and winter break.
Assist the kitchen lead with kitchen functions during daytime hours. Provide fast, efficient service to all customers. Follow company guidelines regarding safety and sanitation. Ensure that all food prepared is savory, appealing, and food safe.
+ Work scheduled shift. Punch in and out on time.
+ Complete work in a timely, consistent manner.
+ Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
+ Report for work in clean and complete uniform; practice good hygiene and grooming.
+ Keep sanitation levels and food storage practices up to company, state, and federal guidelines.
+ Responsible for proper use of gloves, utensils, and portion size of each item, temperature of hot and cold food, and the attractive presentation of all food items.
+ Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal.
+ Have clear awareness and understanding of top 8 Allergens responsibly preparing all food in light of ingredients to prevention of cross contamination.
+ Maintain established logs (food temperatures, cooling temperatures, cooler & freezer temperatures, etc.)
+ Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe work area at all times.
+ Communicate needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to supervisor appropriately, and in a timely manner
+ Monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning; report any discrepancies to supervisor immediately.
Other Functions/Responsibilities:
+ Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately
+ Be proactive in communication; monitor communication posting areas closely
+ Assist management personnel in ordering and inventory procedures
+ Removal of refuse as needed
+ Putting away/Pulling stock as needed
Other Functions/Responsibilities
+ Read items routinely posted for your benefit, including safety & sanitation guidelines and laws
+ Assist with special events or catering events as assigned
+ Assist in other duties relating to the account?s needs as assigned by management
The Kitchen Assistant position involves the physical work of being mobile for several hours at a time. Must be able to handle serving equipment (tongs, spoons, ladles, etc.) and plate and place food on counter. Kitchen/serving environment may include hot, humid, or cold temperatures.

+ Minimum of 1 year food service experience
+ High School Diploma
+ ServeSafe Certification or Food Handlers Certification
Must possess a positive, can-do attitude and exhibit good customer service skills. Need to maintain professionalism at all times, and work with others in a respectful and cooperative manner, even while working under pressure. Expected to adhere to Employee Handbook policies and procedures. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
